About the Donation

This year, 10 Arizona FFA chapters submitted applications for the tractor donation program. After all applications were independently reviewed and scored, there was a clear separation between the top three applicants and the remaining chapters. Scores from each reviewer were totaled, with the chapter receiving the lowest overall score being selected as the recipient.

This year's recipient is Buckeye FFA, and what an incredible year it has been for their chapter. In addition to receiving the Arizona Old Iron tractor donation, Buckeye FFA is also home to the newly elected Arizona FFA State President and was named the Arizona FFA Chapter of the Year. Coincidentally, the new State President is also the grandson of the tractor donor, Bill Webster, making this year's presentation even more meaningful.

The community support has been outstanding. The owner of VMC Machinery in Buckeye is so excited that Buckeye FFA was selected that he has offered to donate shop time so students can learn and participate in completing the remaining mechanical repairs prior to paint and bodywork. In addition, he has generously committed to donating the majority of the parts and supplies needed to complete the restoration, with the goal of ensuring students are actively involved in every step of the process.
