Wilesco D32el Twin Cylinder stationary steam engine. This was Wilesco's largest, and most powerful, steam model and is in overall excellent condition. It is electrically heated with a total of 1500 watts of heating capacity (the same as a good hair dryer or small room heater) and will heat the 1 liter boiler very quickly and make a LOT of steam! The nickel plated boiler has a steam dome with weighted whistle (this acts as a safety valve, too) as well as a separate safety valve / filler plug. The large sight glass on the end gives a good picture of the water level in the boiler. It also has a drain valve, which makes blowing down / emptying very easy. The engine has 2 cylinders and 2 flywheels. It drives a line shaft at the rear where you can connect many different accessories. I added a Wilesco generator, which this particular unit did not originally have, though other models did. The control panel has controls for the steam throttle on the left with the manometer / pressure gauge above it, the steam oiler for the engine, the throw-in/out for the line shaft clutch and the pump valve to allow water to be pumped into the boiler from the reservoir. Above the pump valve is the tachomter, which is driven off the working flyballs. All engine rods have oil cups as does the line shaft. The water pump is driven off a cam rod and has a valve to control how much water goes into the boiler so a constant level can be kept while it's working. Water is bypassed back into the reservoir. Engine steam exhaust is piped into the stack to give a realistic look. There is a tray underneath to catch condensation that can be removed to empty any condensation that it catches. This is a large model measuring approx. 20.75" wide x 17" deep x 15.5" tall.
